Hi..Hi.. new member!

I  feel like i haven't been here in a while.. :\ maybe its just because of all the things that have been going on around me these past days.. Ok so i have good news :D 

Monday my mom called me to see how i was doing and stuff and she tells me that one of my cousin's from Peru is coming!!!!

I thought maybe she was kidding, but she wasn't :) My cousin is coming to live with us for a few months and its gonna be so exciting... well I'm not gonna be there as much as i want, but I'm so happy she's coming to visit... Yay!! lol. 

My cousin is 14 years old and she's a very sweet girl :)))) 

This weekend i'm going home because i have a a dentist's appointment and i'll get to see her and talk to her.

I'm also planning for her to come to Meredith one weekend and sleep over, and just check out the college :D

Ok well that has been the only exciting thing happening to me these past days lol.

Japanese Drum convocation!

Today i decided to attend the convocation for the Japanese drum club... and let me tell you it was AWESOME!!

This was such a great opportunity to learn about culture that i just couldn't pass it up, specially kause i love Japanese culture :)

The event started with two Japanese club members introducing us to this magical art that dates back to 1500 years of use in Japan. I found out the actual name for this type of drumming is called TAIKO! lol i love the name. 

The presenters were so wonderful, they played for us many intense, incredible, passionate songs :D It was just so awesome to watch how amazing they played. 

Overall i had a great time learning about this and watching the performance. 

I think more people should have gone... and they even let us participate and play some notes on the drums.. lol.

Hallween :D

Okayyy.... so I'm very excited for halloween to come already!

I'm pretty sure i'm going home that weekend and i'm looking forward to going back. I guess homesickness has finally kicked in lol. I miss my family and especially my lovely niece. She's so adorable :D I think this year she's gonna dress up as a cute cat lol...

Hmm.... the question is: what will i be for halloween???

I have no idea... maybe a schoolgirl? i might be on the sultry side hahahahaa

Goodness i've literally sat here, in front of my laptop, for about 2 and a half hours lol... Trying to make your spring schedule is no joke!!

I'm trying to build a good schedule and there are so many options for classes its a little overwhelming at times. I think my tentative schedule is going to have 17 credits, that's not too bad... well that's what i'm hoping for. I want to take fun and interesting classes like Human Sexuality and Pilates :P lol. Wish me luck you guys, i hope i get to be in all the classes i want :)

OMG the Fair!!!

I'm so excited :D 

At first i didn't think i was gonna go to the fair, but now everything's changed!! So me and my boyfriend have decided to go together Sunday the 24 lol. I love the fact that we're going, but i feel a little weird about going the last day... sadly that's the only day he can go so its ok. I'm still gonna have lots of fun and enjoy the adventure!!

I haven't been to a fair in a while and everybody's talking about how great this fair is, so its that much more exciting. I'll bring the camera :)

I'm so happy to be back at Meredith :)

Going home was nice, you get spoiled by parents, get good SEASONED food lol.. and just rest..

My break was ok, there was a rocky spot... but that's a little too personal, but everything is better now (thank god). I did miss it here at Meredith, is it just me or does anyone else feel a little weird going home? I just feel like i like being really independent now, and doing my own thing, not asking permission to do stuff or being told what to do all the time hehe... Don't get me wrong, the break was nice though :)

Oh Meredith I'm back!! and o is the h.w -___- lol

I'm so excited for Fall Break :)

I want to go home and be with my family already... Sometimes homesickness just kicks in.

And although i want to go... a little part of me doesn't want it.. lol and that's because: I'm going to work when i get back to my hometown :(

 Any of you been to Steak and Shake??? Yea well... that's where i work at, as a hostess. I wish i was just going back to chill and have a mini vacation from school, but instead i end up working! oh well, i need the money lol..

Busy busy busy

I'm so glad i can sit down for a minute and catch my breath as i'm writing. Today has been a crazy day for me... I've basically been everywhere!! Classes weren't so bad but i had to go home today for a dentist appointment. Home is an hour away so while its not so bad.. it still sucks being in the car that long :/ lol. i get restless...

So i got home, ate with my parents :D (it was really good) and then i had to drive to see my orthodontist.. It really feels like I've been stuck in a car all day, i guess cause i had to go everywhere hehe..

Then... yes, another hour of driving back to come back to Meredith :X

I'm exhausted and my friend dragged me to the volleyball game against Methodist. Well, it turned out to be a lot of fun!!! The girls were playing good. Now i'm here in my room and i wish i could crash in my bed but i gotta do lots of h.w :( not cool. Guess i have to start working on it....

So... today was a great day for the most part :)
I had classes as usual and that was ok, except for calculus (i was falling asleep haha). I also went to the half the sky walk! it turned out to be very nice.. I'm glad we had a little gesture to support the book.
And i took my first Biology test :O lol... i'm so happy i got over it, it really wasn't that bad so i hope i did well on it :)
Goodness i did a lot of things today.
well the best parts of my day that i got to hang out with my Big Sis and my other "twins" haha. My Big Sis, Elizabeth Warren invited us to go out to dinner and it turned out to be so much fun! We decided to eat at Noodles and company located in Cameron Village. The place was really cute and you can get a delicious meal very cheap!!! Def go if you have a chance, plus they have really cute to go boxes :)

Well I have never heard of this term before we used it in class lol. It was kind of interesting to find out that there was an actual term that refers to something other than home and work, or in this case school. So there i was... thinking about choosing my third place. It finally hit me: A book store! I love reading, and bookstores are a great place to relax and interact with others at the  same time.

And ta daa!! i found my perfect place :)

Quail Ridge Books and Music

I went there today, let me tell you its such a nice and cute bookstore.. feels very homey. It was just a tiny bit small, well as compared to my usual Barnes and Noble, but its definitely worth being there. Did i mention its like right across from Meredith?? Very convenient :D

Anybody can go there and spend time relaxing and enjoying a good book or have a talk with someone there. 

The store is locally owned by Nancy Olson and has been around for 25 years since it first opened in 1984!! wow :)

I know I enjoy very much reading and just hanging out somewhere nice. If you're the type of person that will one day want to check out this chill place i really recommend it. The place is nice and the staff is helpful, so make sure you stop by one day. I know I'll be getting my comic books from here... yay!

Oh sleep... yes i love it! I love sleeping and i wish i could get more of it :(
Actually, after seeing this interesting video about the importance of sleeping I'm definitely going to get more sleep at night. Usually I'm one of those persons that likes to get everything done, so even if I'm not done with my h.w and its 1:00 o'clock already I'll still stay awake just to finish whatever i have to do. I know... that's really bad. Lately I've been a little sleep deprived since i go to sleep late and wake up early :[
Thank You FYE!!!! I just needed someone to tell me how important sleep was.
The studies done in this video were kind of amazing, and the results were shocking. I mean, i would have never known that sleep deprivation could be so harmful, even to the point of putting you in track for various diseases such as obesity and diabetes.. now that's crazy.
I also liked learning that not getting enough sleep actually makes you become hungry even if you are truly not hungry... yeah, sleep deprivation messes up many things in your body and mind.
All i have to say after this video is that i definitely need to get to bed earlier and make sure i get those precious 7-8 hours of sleep :) Oh how I'm looking forward to them hehe :D

jean addiction!

Hehe just thinking about this subject makes me laugh. As it happens, yesterday i was sitting down trying to get some homework for economy done, but the book made me so sleepy.... i had to take a break. Of course, i went to google (another addiction) and started looking at clothing stores i liked. i literally sat in front of my laptop admiring jeans for about 2 and a half hours... yeah, it was bad. I love clothes and have poor self-control lol. But thankfully, those random jean and clothes moment occur once in a blue, so i won't be faced with one of those again :) And i didn't buy anything so that was good.. trying to save money :D

one last thing: beware of telling your roommate! My roommate Chelsea caught the addiction temporarily. Thank goodness we got over it.
